Saturday 7th Feb. hike **** cloudy - Home to Landguard - 5 miles at least :)

What a top weekend - with some rough seas during the week, the first chop for awhile it was a good day for some coal hunting !!! We set off off from home and headed to Landguard - some three hours later we were home knackered with 10k of coal - nice walk :)

Sunday 8th Feb.

Lovely sunny day so it was time to pack a picnic and get the bikes out - it was Mags first trip out on her bike for a few days because of a dodgy knee :( on the mend now :( We headed down the hill to the prom which was very busy along to the Cliff top car park - no snow buntings today :( and along Ferry Lane to the driving range before turning right along the track to Trimley where we spot a buzzard :) We stopped off at Mag and David Coles for a coffee and to wish Dave's dad a get well soon message after he had a nasty accident out on his bike yesterday and is in hospital :( After an hours break we continued along the bike path by the A14 - a bit scary with the cars whizzing past and onto Levington Marina where the tide was in. We had our sandwiches in the BBQ area. It was then past Loompit lake which was full of geese, herons and cormorants :) It was then up the lane beside to Lake across the small country lanes to the back of Felixstowe docks - at which point Mag headed up past Morrisons while I continued to the dock viewing point just in time to see a huge container ship come in as the sun was setting - loads of people taking pics !!! Great bike ride :)

PS - this was the first time I used my Cotton Carrier to carry my my camera on my racksack :) top item just a bit pricey.
